HOSPITAL PETITION HITS 550 NAMES - PRIME MINISTER MUST RESPOND

Our petition calling for a review of the decision to close the A&E at Bishop Auckland has passed the 500 names required for a response from the Prime Minister.

Mark Wilkes commented "It is clear that the people of Bishop Auckland want to know exactly what went on. If the Liberal Democrat policy on locally elected health boards had been in place, I am convinced that local people would have stopped this closure."

"The knock on effect of this is now being seen across a wide range of services, and I am continually being contacted about problems across the County. It is clear that only the Liberal Democrats can be trusted with the NHS".
