MEP SUPPORTS SUNBED RESTRICTIONS TO FIGHT SKIN CANCER

A North East MEP has spoken out in support of legislation that would place a duty on tanning businesses to prevent the use of sunbeds by under-18s and impose strict requirements for supervision, provision of information on health risks, and eye protection.

MEP WELCOMES EU CAP ON INTERNET ROAMING CHARGES

A North East MEP has welcomed the introduction of a cut-off level on mobile internet roaming charges to protect customers from nasty "bill shocks" after they have been online when in another EU country.

Northumberland Lib Dem MEP Fiona Hall has welcomed O2's decision to cancel its plan to put up a new phone mast next to a school in Darras Hall after a meeting between local campaigners and the mobile phone provider which she had helped to arrange.
